The bracing combination of citrus and mint is an excellent foil for sweet rum in this classic Cuban cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

8 Mint Leaves

1/2 ounce Syrup

Ice Cubes

2 ounces Rhum

1 ounce fresh Lime Juice

Soda Water, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In the bottom of a glass, muddle mint leaves with simple syrup for a few seconds until mint starts to break down. 
  2. Fill glass with ice, then add rum and lime juice; stir to combine. 
  3. Top with soda water and garnish with mint sprig.
